Beki grew up in a small village called Norton in the North of Doncaster. She spent her childhood being involved in the performing arts, from dance classes to theatre school to learning many musical instruments.
She moved to Manchester for University, achieving her BA in Music and Drama from the University of Manchester. It was here she discovered her love for Musical Directing and writing plays. She then moved to Leeds to do her Masters in Musical Direction at Leeds Conservatoire, graduating in 2025.
Since then, Beki has worked as a freelance Musical Director. She landed her first tour just 3 months after graduating. She also works as a singing and piano teacher across performing arts schools in the North of England and also privately.
Beki has helped to create and set up two theatre companies, one of which she is heavily involved in. Afterglow Theatre Company is based in Leeds and was created in January 2026, co-founded by herself and her course mates at Leeds Conservatoire: Hannah Shaw, Max Barron and Jenny Carney. Afterglow aims to “shine a light left on stories left in the dark”. Their first play was written by Beki, which is currently in the R&D stage. Fruitbowl Theatre is based in London, originally co-founded in Manchester. Fruitbowl is a “female-led, intersectional feminist, and queer-driven theatre collective”. Beki is the Associate Director for Fruitbowl, and works on the music aspects of their shows, such as sound deign and sound tech. She has also performed as a drag king and written a sketch for their queer comedy sketch show “Who Gave You The Mic?”.
